Happy Anniversary!
April 7th marks one year since Vermont passed equal marriage rights!
The best way to say thanks? We don’t need to tell you what a challenging session the legislature is having. It’s a good time to let legislators know how much we appreciate their hard work and, in particular, their vote for the freedom to marry last year. As they make the difficult choices that face them, they’d no doubt appreciate the reminder of how big a positive difference they’ve made in the lives of so many Vermonters through their votes last year.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Email your thanks to Vermont legislators who voted for S.115. Want to express thanks to legislators beyond your district? Maybe you don’t even live in Vermont? Send thank-you emails to equality-supporting legislators districts beyond your own. Whether you’re grateful for the right to marry or you’re just glad to live in a state where your fellow residents now have that right, it’s time remind these legislators:
"THANK YOU — WE’RE HERE FOR YOU!"

In each thank-you email you send, please include your full residential address. Legislators need to see where all the support and thanks are coming from.

The last remaining work for Vermont Freedom to Marry is supporting legislators in 2010 after they stood for marriage equality in 2009. Getting them re-elected shows how much we appreciate their work AND reassures legislators nationwide that voting for equality is both the right thing to do and the politically savvy thing to do.
